SWAN LAKE GREEN-UP

Swan Lake Nature Reserve,
(off Old Kamloops Road)
We have partnered up with North Okanagan Naturalists' Club for a third time to increase biodiversity at Swan Lake Nature Reserve in Vernon.
We will be starting at 11:00am and planting until all of the plants are in the ground. Feel free to drop in when you are able.

Light refreshments will be provided.
Help us plant over 200 trees and shrubs at Swan Lake Nature reserve in Vernon.

Locals and visitors are invited to channel their inner scientist by participating in this second annual Bioblitz event.
​
A bioblitz is a citizen science effort to record as many species within a designated location and time period as possible.
​
Participants will be joined by OSS biologists, naturalists and staff and invited to learn how to identify life from plants to insects, mammals, and birds.
​
Observations will be catalogued using the iNaturalist app. This free app can be downloaded from Apple App Store or Google Play. Participants should have the app downloaded prior to arrival and will be given instructions on how to make observations in the app on the day of.
