Thomson Marsh

Thomson Marsh is a public park found in the Mission area of Kelowna. With a creek running through the park, it is a great spot for both people and wildlife to spend their day.

For the past couple of years we have collaborated with the City of Kelowna to enhance the park by creating a denser riparian strip that will provide better habitat and food for many of the parks residents.

In 2024 and 2025, with the help of over 40 volunteers, we were able to plant around 755 trees and shrubs around the marsh. These plants include: snowberry, wild rose, showy milkweed, red-osier dogwood, blue elderberry, native willows, and mountain alder.

You can also find us at this park hosting various events, like Beginner Birding workshops, Invasive plant walks, and much more.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT >

We respectfully acknowledge that our stewardship work takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People. For countless generations, the Syilx People have cared for these lands, waters, plants, and wildlife through their knowledge, laws, and responsibilities to the natural world.

As an organization dedicated to conservation and stewardship, we recognize that caring for ecosystems is not a new practice but one that has been guided by Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial. We honour the Syilx Nation's enduring stewardship and commit to fostering respectful relationships with the land and with the people who have always called it home.
