Long-Tailed Weasels Steal Burrows

#FunFactFriday Did you know that instead of making their own burrows, long-tailed weasels will usually take over the burrows of their prey? They are carnivores that mostly eat small mammals such as mice and rabbits, but will also eat small birds and reptiles, and the occasional fruit or berry. While long-tailed weasels are very cute, they can be quite aggressive. This enables them to intimidate their much larger predators - usually owls and coyotes.

Long-tailed weasels have a brown coat with a yellow or white underbelly in the summer, and a completely white coat in the winter. Their tail has a black tip year-round.
